Phallus with Scene

This Peruvian Moche-Styled object is created of hand formed clay, measures approx. 7-1/2" in length, and depicts an oral sex scene (male with female) under the lid. The Moche civilization (c. 500 AD) flourished on the North Coast of Peru, and very often their objects had sexual themes. Next to the scene on the inside is a hole (see bottom picture), the purpose of which is unknown, though it looks as though it could be used to hold incense.
